Howdy folks!
I'm going to post some random (heh heh, random again) pictures from the past month!  They are all scenery pictures.  People pictures go on the other blog!  (So if you read this blog and know us, but haven't been invited to our other blog, ask us and we might invite you. =P)

Stripe rust

 A little note on this stripe rust picture.  You almost can't see the stripe rust here, but it's those orange pustules in the middle of the leaf.  Most of the fields have been sprayed by now, but yesterday one of the fields we check hadn't been sprayed, and the stripe rust had just exploded there!  It was literally all over the place.  It was so bad that it turned my shoes orange!  I should've taken a picture of them!

Some yellow wildflowers.  I wish there were purple wildflowers, but I don't think I've seen any 'round here.  (Other than henbit, but that doesn't count! =P)

I like this so much I had to post it again!  Rainbow colored Kool-Aid!  I was so excited when I was helping Ma unload the groceries and I discovered that she'd gotten the rainbow colors without even realizing it!  (By the way, no, we don't usually get so much Kool-Aid, but I think it was on sale or something. =) )

Our wheat down south.  I only took a picture of it because I wanted the tree and the water.  This wheat looks AWFUL though!  It doesn't show up so much in the picture, but it's the worst looking wheat that I've seen this year.  No joke.  And I've seen dozens of wheat fields over the past couple months, so it's not like I've only seen one or two other fields that look better.  The stuff we planted on the east and down by the garden is doing pretty well, but this south stuff is just doing awfully.  We even put extra fertilizer and everything on it, but it doesn't want to behave.

Ah.. much better!  Some of the wheat on the east side of the house is heading! =D

And now comes the garden pictures!  Here is some spinach.

Lettuce  (Oh, I guess I only put two on here.  We also have broccoli, carrots, potatoes, beets, green beans that haven't come up quite yet, and other stuff that I'm forgetting.)

Scenery south of the garden.  It's GREEN!!!! The wildflowers (I think they're actually wild onions) look pretty neat down there too.

Hope you enjoyed the pictures!  It's been much more fun taking outdoor pictures this spring, since we are actually having spring, unlike last year! =D
I should be able to think of something to say after nearly a month, but I guess not!

Random Pictures

Heh heh... here we go again; a "random" post! I'm going to see if it will let me post on two blogs at once...

Here are some of our tulips that are bloomed out. The purple ones are coming yet; hopefully I'll remember to take pictures of them! (Oh, notice anything wrong in this picture?)

Wheat! Doesn't it look neat with the hill and pampas grass in the background? Oh, yeah, it kind of looks like there's a clump of weeds in the center of the picture, but it's just some of the wheat that's farther along. This patch is very finicky about size. Some is real tall and some is real short!

I guess that's all the interesting pictures I could find for now! =)

Random Thoughts

Howdy again folks!
The last post was Random Quotes, so I guess I can name this one Random Thoughts! How's that?

Don't you think there should be a candy called Happy Farmer? I mean, they have Jolly Ranchers, so why can't they have Happy Farmers, too? That would be a fun candy! They should be crop shaped, rainbow colors, and taste like chocolate, peanut butter, and caramel!

Speaking of food, this is what we had for supper the other night! Mmm yum!

Do you like bull riding? We went to the Championship Bull Riding event in Dodge City last night! Our brother-in-law's company was the main sponsor, so he was able to get cheap tickets for us. Convenient, huh? It was the first time Patty and I had ever seen live bull riding and it was LOTS of fun! I had always thought that I liked the horse side of rodeos better, but I'd never actually seen live bull riding! It is exhilaratingly exciting! I wasn't even bored after two hours of it; I was disappointed that that was it. Anyway, I never thought I'd like bull riding so much, but it's fun. (To watch I mean... I've never actually tried it myself so I can't say how fun it is to do the actual riding! But it's probably really fun until you hit the ground. HAHA! I love the sensation of falling though. My favorite dreams are falling dreams. 'Cause you can pretend you're flying! ... until you hit the ground.) Anyway, that was a ton of fun! Plus, I was VERY pleasantly surprised that the announcer guy prayed before the event began! And he said something about how it was God who created the bulls, and who gives all of us the talents and abilities we have. Anyway, that was really good! I never would have expected that at a bull riding event.

This amaryllis had TEN blooms this year! You can't see all ten of them in this picture, but nine bloomed out at around the same time, and then the tenth one waited until the others were starting to die. It wanted to have it's own glory or something...!

I guess that's about all of my random thoughts for the moment. I can't wait until the next time we get to see bull riding! It rivals the excitement of football! .... Okay, wait a second, not the excitement of last minute tense endings to football games! But it is great fun, plus, it's ranch people, not city people!
